Read the full interview below.
theNSider: For those who may not be familiar with you, can you start off with a brief background of yourself?
Brittany: I spent three years in Corporate America, working at top PR and advertising agencies, on brands such as Walmart, McDonald's, Tylenol, and Motrin; before she decided to dropout. While the experience was phenomenal, I wanted to live my life, liberated, free of restraints, and in alignment with my purpose. I now walk in my purpose, by helping black women to actualize themselves, and build purposeful brands. I develop self-actualization content on my unapologetic blog, gem droppin' podcast, and transparent video series!
theNSider: What services do you provide?
Brittany: I help Black women with social service based businesses to brand themselves. I do brand consultations, brand strategy calls and coaching, as well as brand management.
theNSider: What do you love most about having your own brand?
Brittany: Honestly, what I enjoy most is being able to directly impact people, and seeing what notes and cues that I have given them being implemented. For those who read my blog, or keep up with any of my content, many of them may reach out to me and let me know when a piece has resonated with them, or what it has meant to them. From more of a business perspective, I love being able to have Black women in their journey to financially liberate themselves. All of the Black women that I work with are either part or full time entrepreneurs, who are looking to build both their brand’s and wealth.
theNSider: What have you learned most about yourself during your entrepreneurial journey?
Brittany: I’ve learned who I am and what I’m made of. This journey has shown me that if I can bring myself to an unshakable place, then no matter what is dealt my way, I’ll be able to prevail. That’s why I work so much on myself, because, we can’t control the unknowns of the world, but we can choose how we respond to them.
theNSider: How do you face and overcome challenges life may throw your way?
Brittany: I’ve had so many down days, that I’ve learn to look for the lesson in them instead of dwelling on the emotion or negative feelings they may surface. Looking for lessons, is like being on this rollercoaster of constant evolvement. I believe that I am forever growing, and a better person because of that.
theNSider: What advice can you give other up and coming entrepreneurs
Brittany: To connect yourself with your why. It’s so much easier to function from a place of honesty with self, and in alignment with your purpose. If you seek your purpose, it will become clear how you can connect it to your professional pursuits.
theNSider: Any exciting news or events coming up that you can share with us?
Brittany: Yes! I am a guest at a couple of upcoming conferences. The first is Made Maven’s Leadership Summit. I will be sitting on a panel at their “When PR Pros and Bloggers meet” session, on April 29. Additionally, I’ll be giving a workshop on branding at the Boss Up Conference hosted by Bizzness Babe Army on May 19. You can also catch me on the latest episode of the The Real After College, which can be found on Apple Podcasts or SoundCloud.
theNSider: How can we connect with you and check out more of your work ?
